Acorn Superglide
stairlift's ride quality
- Smoothest, quietest and most luxurious ride quality
- Unique rail profile and chassis roller system
- DC power
- Rack and pinion drive systems
- Superb feeling of safety and stability
The peerless ride quality is attributed to our unique rail profile and
chassis roller system working in conjunction with the DC power and rack and
pinion drive systems. Typically, other stairlifts feature four, or sometimes
six, chassis rollers and a box section rail. The Acorn Superglide stairlift has
eight rollers, giving a surface contact area at least four times greater than
competitor products. Such features, along with our unique double-tube rail
profile, gives the smoothest, quietest and most luxurious ride quality currently
available, and a superb feeling of safety and stability when using the
stairlift.
Easy to use.
- Whisper-quiet operation
- Simple paddle and infra-red remote control operation
- 'Soft start / soft stop' technology
- Swivel seat
- Diagnostic digital display
- Folding seat
All of the easy to use features are built into each stairlift that Acorn
manufacture. A fold away footrest means that the stairs remain available for use
by others, when the stairlift is not in use. The noise levels of the stairlift
are whisper quiet, due to the stairlifts' DC power supply. The lift can be
'sent' or 'called' to wherever it is needed by using the infra-red remote
control. As the lift starts and finishes its journey, there will be no jolting
or lurching due to Acorns rack & pinion drive. The swivel seat has a locking
catch, that ensures easy mounting and dismounting from the stairlift. If the
seat is not in the correct position, the stairlift will be unoperable, until the
seat has been placed into the correct position. The diagnostic digital display
mounted on the stairlift carriage shows clearly when the lift is in the normal
operating position and also provides invaluable diagnostic information in the
unlikely event of a fault with your stairlift.
Safe to Use
- Designed to meet BS5776-1996.
- Additional certification granted by TRL EMC.
- Pressure-sensitive safety surfaces
- Limit sensors
- Dual electronic and mechanical braking systems
- Lockable isolation switch
- 24 Volt DC operation
Our stairlifts are designed to meet the BS5776-1996 standard, thus
eliminating any risk of electric shock. The dual electronic and mechanical
braking systems eliminate the possibility of an uncontrolled descent. The
Lockable isolation switch ensures that the stairlift always stops in the correct
position. Pressure-sensitive safety surfaces that prevent the lift from
colliding with any obstruction on the stairway. These are located around the
footrest, and on the top and bottom of the carriage.
Easy to
Maintain
- Stairlifts fit to stair treads
- Factory-prepared for installation
- No mains wiring necessary
- Maintenance free batteries
- Infra-red remote controls
Stairlifts fit to stair treads not to the wall. Because we use our own fully
trained Installation Engineers, the process is quick, clean and simple.
Factory-prepared for installation - each stairlift is individually built to the
dimensions of your own staircase. No mains wiring necessary - there's no need
for expensive and disruptive alteration to the domestic mains power supply, or
for a certified electrician to connect main power. Maintenance free batteries -
power for the lift is derived from 2 x 12 volt batteries charged via an
independent transformer. Infra-red remote controls - no complicated wiring for
the lift call stations.
Acorn Superglide
stairlift's power supply
- Works during mains power failure
- Battery powered stairlift
- No mains voltage on the stairlift
- No trailing cables
- Rapid and simple installation - no mess or disruption
- Smooth and near silent operation
- 'Soft Start / Soft Stop'
Acorn stairlifts are powered by direct current (DC) supplied by rechargeable
batteries. These deliver a smooth, ultra-quiet and safe ride quality. The
batteries are maintenance-free and charged by a safe 15 volt AC, which is
stepped-down from the domestic mains supply with a transformer. Using this
method of power for your stairlift has many advantages. If there is ever a power
failure in your home your stairlift continues to function, so you will never get
stranded. There is no mains voltage power to your stairlift. As the power supply
is onboard the stairlift itself there is no troublesome trailing cable as you
get with AC powered lifts. DC battery power gives an extremely smooth and near
silent operation. It also allows us to build in 'Soft Start / Soft Stop'
movement. This means that there is no jolting or lurching as your stairlift
starts or finishes its journey. This adds to the feeling of safety and
stability. |
